Educational programs are activities that enable the designer/artist to communicate skills and techniques, and extend their relationships with people outside their own professions. Accordingly, the work as an outcome of the activity is not emphasized as much as the process of making the work and incorporating expertise of different professions into the process.These projects are trials that are carried out by students to experiment with ifuku-zokei (architecting clothes). Chakusei, is a condition that could be described as epiphytic, where an organism grows on another organism but does not parasite on it. They make work to find a site for their own existence or a place for their own comfort, without infringing on the existing space or people. It does not mean that they simply assimilate to their given environment when making their work, but they need to create a condition that is self-fulfilling. They select material, color, and technique that suit their concepts, and decide on the forms that could be anything from clothes, a cot, to an awning.

着生─場をまとう

エデュケーショナルプログラムは、衣服造形を通じて、技術を伝達し、専門領域を越えて繋がりを作る活動である。演習結果としての作品を最重要視するのではなく、作品に至るまでにどんなプロセスを経たのか、各自の専門分野にいかに活かして行くかを焦点に据えて行っている。「着生」は、衣服造形のひとつの試みとして行った演習である。「着生」とは、着生植物のように、相手の生命を侵すことなく付着して生きる様を意味している。自分らしい存在の場、あるいは、自分にとって心地良い場を見つけ、その場所やそこにいる人々を侵すことなく存在するための作品を制作する。また、ただそこに順応するだけではなく、自己実現を果たす作品であることも条件である。素材や色、技法などは、それぞれのコンセプトに沿ったものとし、作品は、衣服、小屋、天幕など、どのような形態でも良いこととした。
